Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression
from it to the full product?
Learnt to use a tripod.
180 degree rule
Match on action
Shot revers shotPlanning what shots
180 degree rule:
The 180 degree rule is extremely important and basic in media. This rule is to make sure the audience doesn’t get the characters mixed up, so the audience only sees 180 degrees of where the camera can go. From learning this at the start of year 12 I feel I used this rule from the preliminary task until the end of the thriller opening sequence.
Match on action:
This is an example of where we used match on action in the preliminary task. This shot is where some one is looking as something and then it cuts to what they are looking at.
Shot reverse shot:This is also an over the shoulder shot
Shot reverse shot usually takes place in a conversation. This is straight forward, going from one person to the other then back to the person again as they both speak.
Planning our shots:
Planning shots are important as if you do not know what you are filming this could become time consuming so writing down previously what shot is going to be filmed and for how long not only saves time whilst filming but also in editing when you refer to how long you wanted each shot on the screen.
