Evaluation Question 2

Evaluation Question 2

Our film is a Domestic Comedy which begins with our two main characters arguing, this sets up for the rest of the play as there is no more communication between the two. The only way that they communicate is by using post it notes and passing them between each other. We believed that creating synergy between our film production and ourancillary texts was a great way for the audience to get to know the plot before they even watch the film. Therefore we wanted to take our unique plot line and portray it within ourancillary texts. The first thing i wanted to do when designing my film poster was to transfer across the iconic parts of our film. The first thing was to get the iconic sticky notes on the poster. This is basis of the plot, and will conveys to the audience that they are significant to the film.

The next thing I decided to do was to add both main characters to allow the audience tofamiliarisethemselves with the two. The two characters are also convey their anger towards each other through their body language. Matt is crossing his arms and is scowling at Laura. Laura has her back turned on Matt and looks annoyed. As they are both in nearly every scene in the film, they would become a sign that would signify the film.

The next thing was to get the film title on the poster so that the audience would know what the film is called and also relate it to the background.

To get the audience's attention, I decided to add a tagline. This makes the audience thinking andintriguesthem into what it means.

For the main poster we decided to take bits from all the poster ideas as they all had really good parts in to.The house in the background shows theaudiencethe setting of our film.Furthermore the setting of a Domestic Comedy is a house, therefore it conveys to the audience that the genre is a Domestic Comedy. The picture of the main characters with the sticky notes over their mouths shows the audience the main characters of our film. this also conveys that the two are angry at each other, they have their backs to each other and both have their arms cross with an angry facial expression.

The sticky notes over their mouths convey that they are not speaking and there is nota lotof communication between the two. The sticky notes are also an iconic part from the film and conveys the film title and there role in the plot. The title colours link into the colours of the sticky notes. It also links into the film as the film title has the same colours. We added a tagline which is a memorable phrase. Like in the Jurassic park poster our tagline gives the audience a little bit of context about our film.

For the Radio trailer we wanted to link the radio trailer to the poster and to our film. We would link the film to the trailer by using the same music and some dialogue from the film. We took the argument from the opening scene to draw in the audience and get them intrigued.

The audience will hear that there is two characters one a man and one a woman. Once they look at the poster they will see an man and a women and connect the voice to the characters. When they view the film, the audience can then see that these two characters are the main characters.

We wanted to create synergy betweenourancillary texts, one way we did this was with the tagline. The tagline sticks in the audiences mind as it is a memorable phrase. This is effective as it can be included in everyday life, such as the tagline 'shaken not stirred' from James Bond and 'may the odds be ever in your favour' from The hunger Games. Our tagline links into the plot of our film and therefore is easily associated with our film.
