EVALUATION TASK 2:How effective is the combination of your

What did we do?Our project was to create a band/artist and to produce a

campaign and image around them. The band/artist needed to have a strong and realistic image that people could get

drawn in to. We did this by creating a campaign around them including:

-CD digi pack

-Music Video

-Website to market the band

MUSIC VIDEO:

•The way an artist decides to portray themselves is very important, because it is the way that people will remember them and their music video.

•An artist image needs to suit their style of music, from what they wear to how they play their instruments and what they play.

•Their image is light hearted and chilled, which is important to keep with the music video.

TARGET AUDIENCE:Target audience is important because you need to know what market you are selling your music too. Therefore you need to create your work in a certain way to attract the market you want. Our band is a young English

band, so we wanted our audience to be:-target a young audience (17-25)

-male and female-white American or European

-Rebels as well as trendies

WHERE WOULD YOU ADVERTISE IT:On YouTube there are pop

up adds, and adverts before you watch videos. We would advertise our

band by having a small clip of their music video, to give people a teaser and taster, next to similar

music videos and music genres to ours.

London is the perfect place to advertise the band because our target audience is young English pop fans and this is where you would find a majority of the fans, especially as the band is from London

EVALUATION :Our music video would be shown on TV channels such as Viva and MTV.

Because it is a chilled out and potentially a poppy song, this makes the video able to be played from around 11am-10pm before all the dance music take

over the TV channels. The CD digi pack, could be purchased digitally online on a software like

iTunes or it could be purchased in a shop such as HMV. Advertising for the album could be done on adverts on TV at the same time

as a TV programme that attracts a similar audience. Also it would be advertised on buses, YouTube and magazines. It is important to get the

advertising right because it is the first impression of the band and the song to the public, who will eventually be the ones buying and downloading it. What we are trying to present to people is an organic, natural and indie

band. We want them to seem real to people and not like completely untouchable stars. Our star image is very important because we want the band to seem accessible to their fans. Their target audience is a younger

generation of a mixture of males and females.
