Our Country~ some facts ~ The capital of our country is Bucharest

The Romanian flag has three colours: - RED – symbolizing the blood our ancestors spilt for our freedom- YELLOW – symbolizing the crops, the grains the people have

worked for- BLUE – symbolizing the connection with God Our country has the shape of a fish , as you can see It has hills, plains, valleys, mountains and also sea, the Black Sea the modern jet engine was invented by the Romanian Henri

Coandă in 1910 the vampire Count Dracula, created by Bram Stoker in his novel

“Dracula”, was inspired by the Romanian prince Vlad Tepes, also known as Vlad the Impaler because he used to impale his enemies;

the Romanian Palace of Parliament in Bucharest is the second largest building in the world, next only

to the Pentagon in the United States.

Romania’s national currency is Leu, which means lion (in English)

Romania has one of the happiest cemeteries on Earth in Săpânţa; it’s called the Merry Cemetery; on each stone there is a witty poem written:

Our school – “Ion Pop Our school – “Ion Pop Reteganul”Reteganul”

is located in Sîncel it’s a small public schoolit has three levels of education: preschool, primary and middle school it has 240 students, aged 3 to 15 years oldit has other two structures: one primary school in the village of Pănade and one primary school in the village of Iclod

The motto of our school is: “It takes a whole village to teach a child”.

MASCOT of our school

Is this doll which represents both our school and our area, Valea Târnavelor.

Her name is Ana as this is the most common name in our region.

It represents our strong connection to this land, its traditions and its moral values.
