To set up a network of Master’s degree “Informatics as a Second Competence” among 9 beneficiary universities of Kazakhstan,

Kyrgyzstan and Russia, with the support of 5 European universities.

Main goal of ERAMIS project

Page 3: ERAMIS Tempus Project

3

Disciplinary and geographical extension of the existing Masters in Grenoble and in Bishkek (Double Degree in Computer Science and Social Sciences):

to engineering sciences and exact sciences, to Russian, Kazakh and Kyrgyz Universities.

Development of necessary conditions to set up Double Diploma.

National and international professionalization of the Master’s degree: harmonization of concepts between ERAMIS network partners.

Project Goals

ERAMIS Tempus Project Final Conference – Voronezh, June 2013

Page 4: ERAMIS Tempus Project

Unusual master: not a specialization of the Bachelor’s domain

Aims to provide an additional professional specialization in computer sciences

Open to students with a Bachelor degree in another field than computer sciences◦ students of exact sciences and engineering science◦ students of human and social sciences

Master’s degree program ISC is created on the basis of two masters:◦ At Université Pierre Mendès France, Grenoble (created in 1985)◦ At Kirghize National University, Bishkek (created in 2007)

Main activities of the project

9ERAMIS Tempus Project Final Conference – Voronezh, June 2013

Page 10: ERAMIS Tempus Project

• 2 surveys carried out in every region

• 2383 students (1012 SHS, 1371 sciences & engineering)

• 174 companies

• General results• Depending on the country, the number of interested students vary from 40% to 65%

• Industrial companies need IT/CS specialists. Therefore Informatics as a second competence makes sense.

• Industrial companies need different kinds of IT/CS specialists such as web developers, software engineers, network administrators etc. depending on the geographic location.

• Industrial companies need not only “pure” IT/CS specialists

→ Common modules for generic competences and particular modules for specific competences.

Page 18: ERAMIS Tempus Project

Tests were produced by each beneficiary partner ◦ for all the common courses◦ in English or in Russian

The produced tests were translated in English / Russian

In order to insure the tests will cover the whole syllabuses ◦ the syllabuses were divided in 3, 4 or 5 parts◦ each partner have produced 3 to 5 questions for each part

The tests produced were evaluated by experts (the course leaders)

About 800 test questions were produced

For all the organized trainings and seminars, documents (in English or in local language of the animator) were given to the participants.

For all masters, pedagogic documents were produced in English or in Russian

Some of these documents were uploaded on the ERAMIS project management platform (Grenoble)

All the tests produced are available for all the partners
