Camera

This is the camera we used for our entire visual recording. Although the camera can record both visually and acoustically, there are some limitations for one; the audio quality on the camera is not so good at picking up voices and the actual camera cannot record as good a quality as other cameras used in films. From using this equipment we have learned about the background sound when filming as it effective in picking up the unwanted noises.

Tripod

The tripod was used to stabilize the camera while we recorded our product. A limitation of this was that it took up a lot of space and was not very smooth while panning. The most important piece of knowledge we have gained from using the tripod is that of the stability as it is key if you are trying to film a steady shot.

Mac

Here is the Mac, which we used for editing. Macs are often used in film production because they are compatible with a lot of useful editing software. The Mac was key for the production process of our product as a lot of the time we spent making our product we were using the Mac to either gain some background info on what are film should be like, editing the film and uploading the film. The only difficulty we had was that some Mac's didn’t upload the footage that we had filmed so we had to use a different Mac.

I Movie and Garageband

This is the software we used for editing our product. The software had many features such as transitions, sound effects etc. However, there were some limitations while using this software i.e. there were a limited number of transitions/effects, aswell as the sound being difficult to edit. It was very easy to use and helped us in adding sound effects to our products.

We used this product to create some sound effects for our product such as the radio broadcast, the scream etc. It was extremely easy to use as it took only a matter of minutes to create and it helped us a lot in getting the right effects we wanted for our film.

Youtube and Facebook

Youtube was a vital part of our project as we used it to look at previous films that had our style of genre to gain feedback from. We also used Youtube to upload our drafts of the project and then our final cut of the project. It was easy to use and easy to get feedback from.

Facebook was helpful to us as we were able to post our videos onto facebook and gain feedback from people on the website. Very easy to use and easy to get feedback from.

Phone

For recording the director’s commentary and the radio broadcast, we used a phone. The phone did well at recording the audio clearly but a limitation was that the audio quality could have been better with different equipment. It was again to easy to record and it was also easy to piece together the different parts of the commentary.
