AnimalsA living thing that is not a human is known as an animal. There are two main types of animals.

❖Wild animals

➢ Animals that live in nature are wild animals. They are not tame. These animals are NOT pets.

❖Domestic animals

➢ Animals that live with humans are domestic animals. Humans take care of these animals. These animals are their pets.

AnimalsThere are thousands of wild animals on the Earth. Different kinds of wild animals live in different places. They each have a special environment they must live in to survive. There are not as many domestic animals. People have made some animals domestic, so that they can have them for pets. Some wild animals are domestic. These animals are commonly farm animals. Farm animals include cows, pigs, chickens, goats, sheep, and more. Each animal is unique.

VocabularyWild- an animal or plant living in the natural environment

Domestic- an animal that is tame and kept by humans

Tame- not dangerous or frightened by people

Environment- the place in which an animal, plant, or human lives

Survive- continue to live or exist

Pet- a domestic or tamed animal or bird kept for friendship or pleasure

Farm- an area of land and its buildings used for growing crops and taking care of animals

Unique- being the only one of its kind
