Created my blog, the product log and created my schedule. Monday 16th September Completed research for the magazines Q and Blender

Analyzed the codes and conventions of the Blender magazine Learnt about the Katz’ uses and gratification theory Learnt about the Hartley’s seven subjectivities and Marlow’s

hierarchy of needs Set up a survey monkey and created a questionnaire that was

sent out to 10 different people. Completed the target audience and usp of Q magazine

Monday 23rd September Bought 3 magazines of inspiration

Brainstormed ideas for the preliminary task names Started to create the front cover for the preliminary task, added

the barcode, masthead, issue number, social links and the basic design

Downloaded fonts from dafont to use for the masthead Monday 30th September Continued to make the front cover for the prelim task, added a

main image and started the cover stories Gathered all the questionnaires for the research and added them

to the project log Participated in Photoshop training at ‘The Academy class with

Tony Harmer’ to help with the front cover Monday 7th October I have completed the prelim front cover after creating a ‘puff’ and

smaller images for the cover lines I have met the deadline for the prelim front cover by staying

after college to finish it. Monday 14th October I have created a hand drawn contents page and started the

outlines of the contents page. I have used the ruler tool to outline the main components of the

cover page I have made some of the adjustments to the front cover from the

feedback. I have continued with my contents page and added the editorial

with the editor details I have placed in the social media sites, page number and the

website Monday 21st October I have completed my contents page for my preliminary task.

I added all the finishing touches to my front cover Continued updating my log book by adding in most f the screen

grabs for both the contents page and the front cover Half Term Monday 4th November I started brainstorming names for my main task.

I brainstormed ideas for stories on the inside I created a hand drawn draft of my front cover and started to

plan pictures and the main image Monday 11th November I started to create my main task front cover

I used my magazine of inspiration and created the main features of the front cover

I placed in my social media sites, barcode, masthead, strap line, issue number, price and date

On my masthead I used a font from dafont.com and created a simple stroke effect to make it stand out

I added my main headline and created the placements for the

cover lines. I have taken a image for my main story and manipulated the

image so it fits on the front cover

Monday 18th November I have tweaked my main image to make it stand out I have created the cover lines I have taken a smaller image for my cover story I have manipulated my cover story image and placed it in

position I arranged the text around the image I placed in smaller images and logos for my second cover story I completed the second cover story I rearranged some of the main parts and tweaked all the sections

Monday 25th November I started my contents page I created a hand drawn draft to start off the work I placed in the main header for the page and copied over the

masthead to place next to the contents I placed in the web address, issue 1, page number and the date I created an outline for one of my gig list I have planned out the images I need to take for my contents

page I placed in the small images and one of my main images on the

contents page I sectioned off the areas for my cover stories

I added in my editorial photo and added effects to the image to make it stand out

I started to plan out my cover stories and where each one will go Monday 2nd December I added my cover stories in place and numbered all the different

stories. I added more pictures to fill the space that was left on the

contents page Monday 9th December I updated my project log and continued to finish my primary

research into my chanson magazine of inspiration. I finished my contents page and added all the adjustments I created a slide share account so that I can easily upload power

points to my blog page Monday 16th December I updated my blog page

I added my scanned work of my hand drawn drafts the blog page and annotated them

Christmas Holidays Monday 6th January I create a hand drawn draft for my double page spread

I started on my improvements for my contents page I created a basic layout for my double page spread copying the

page numbers and website to the page Monday 13th January I have taken my images for my double page spread

I have edited my images on Photoshop

I have started to place in my questions and answers on my double page

I have started to arrange my images in the place I want them to go

Monday 20th January I have finalized all my question and answers and added in an extra question to fill the empty space

I arranged my main image and my smaller images around the edge of the page to make the whole layout more interesting

Monday 27th January I added in a promotion about a new album to fill some of the ‘dead space’ at the bottom of the page.

I updated my log book and stared to gather all my questionnaire results onto one PowerPoint

Monday 3rd February I made all the corrections to my double page spread by changing the colour d my drop capital to match the mastheads

I then started to create a PowerPoint with all my survey monkey results that I can upload trough slide share onto my blog page

Monday 10th February I finished off my survey monkey results and uploaded them onto slides share

I used the embedding code to insert the slide share into my blog page

Monday 24th February I started to write up my evaluation I went back over all my pages and made sure I had finished all

my corrections I finished the first question for my evaluation on PowerPoint so I

can create a Prezi I added images and screenshots of my own work and other

magazines to back up any points made about replicated conventions

Monday 3rd March I deiced to change my front cover and took a new photo and

changed the layout of the cover stories I also added in another cover story to fill the empty space to

make it look more professional I started the third question for my evaluation and continued to

edit my Prezi with my work Monday 10th March I finished off the third question for my evaluation and uploads it

onto prezi I then added all the transition on prezi for all the questions

completed so far I started and finished the photography planning and added these

onto prezi with the before and after stages of each Monday 17th March I finished the analysis for all three pages

I then created a survey monkey for feedback and collected my responses and added them to the prezi

I finished off editing my prezi ad added in all the relevant information for my evaluation
