• Two specific assignment tools are available
• Blackboard Assignment Tool
• Turnitin
both fully integrated into MOLE,
similar features but differing functionality
both under constant development
presentation is based on current provision!

Blackboard Assignment Tool
• Inline feedback, highlights and annotations
• supports most file formats (Law had some issues with the viewer)
• No audio feedback but can attach files
• control over number of attempts
• Release assignment to a sub group of students
• Anonymous marking - but easy to turn off
• No app for offline Marking
• Rubric slightly more flexible?
• Notes for other graders
• Video feedback is possible

• Comments & QM linked to mark criterion
• Grading Forms – not in iPad yet
Blackboard Development (summer 2014 - depending on upgrade)
•Anonymous and parallel marking – available on anything
that can be graded in MOLE – quizzes, tests, wikis etc.
•Will require a new course role in order to set up
anonymous marking on an item
•Different Levels of Markers.

Turnitin 2015 onwardsnote – screens may not look exactly like this
• Responsive design – supports range of device, tablets & phones
• Tools in a menu on the right, collapsed when you are not using it.
• Turnitin and GradeMark displayed within the single view
• Thumbnails on the left to navigate more easily
• Improvements to using rubrics – marking ranges
• inline voice comments & formatting of text comments
• Multiple marking - 2 or more markers grade & give feedback. Moderator
determines which feedback is seen & which overall grade is returned.
• Create groups - supports delegated marking
• multiple drafts for an assignment, each of which can be marked.
• submit multiple documents for a single assignment
