• Sustainability is the earth having the

ability to keep on going. It means that the

environment can continue into the future

and go on forever. Sustainability from our

perspective is the world continuing to do

what it was made to do. It is the

development of our buildings that meets

the needs of the present lifestyle without

affecting the future generations and their

needs.

• We have considered Sustainability as an important aspect in

re-developing Wentworth Point, the redevelopment has been

built in a way that results in no harm on the natural environment

around the area. We have considered using three sustainable

solutions to make Wentworth point as sustainable as it can

possible be. Having sustainability carried throughout the

development means that the area of Wentworth Point will be as

clean and sustainable as it can be.

• Throughout redeveloping Wentworth point we have considered

using ecologically sustainable considerations and by doing this

we have used water tanks, solar panels for lighting/heating and

sustainable window shutters that create natural lighting,

ventilation.

Having solar panels to create natural light reduces the amount of

electricity used to usually generate lighting and heating. We have

decided to use solar panels on our buildings at Wentworth point

as it is better for the environment and is sustainable as they last

for a long time.

• Water tanks are designed to capture and hold rainwater as it

falls naturally onto your property during showers and storms.

Having water tanks next to every building gives Wentworth

Point the chance to preserve and save water. These water tanks

are sustainable as they last for a long time and they reduce the

amount of money spent on water coming through pipes to the

buildings on Wentworth Point.


• Glass louvres are very sustainable as they allow natural lighting and fresh

air to enter the building. They are very convenient for our buildings at

Wentworth Point as they are sustainable and are very common throughout

all the buildings that we have constructed. Glass shutters are sustainable

as instead of having electrical lights and air-conditioning these shutters

provide natural lighting and natural ventilation.


• In developing and constructing the

Discovery centre at Wentworth Point we

have considered these three sustainable

ideas as it will benefit the building and it

will give the building the ability to go on

and be as sustainable as it can possibly be.

They will benefit the whole community at

Wentworth Point and the community will be

a sustainable and happy one to be apart

of.
