What is a dinosaur

• A dinosaur is a reptile that walked the earth millions of years ago.

• Some dinosaurs were vicious carnivores while others were plant-eating giants.

• So any of those ancient reptiles were dinosaurs

Page 3: Dinosaurs

Dino Defenses

• Many dinosaurs were preyed upon so they needed some form of defense.

• Many were just giants that were usually left alone.• Other unfortunate dinosaurs used knife-like

appendages.• If they didn’t have those they had armor plating

like an ankylosaurus.• Some also had tail clubs

Water Lizards

• You might not even call them dinosaurs.

• There were a few species of prehistoric reptiles that lived in the water.

• These reptiles were fairly large and fed on fish, crustaceans, and other sea life.

• Water-bound reptiles usually had long slender necks, strong flippers, and like other reptiles, sharp teeth

• Now you can go out into the public and “fascinate” everyone about dinosaurs and how you can cover the bare bones of what they actually were.
