Red – Taylor Swift

Annabel Street

Page 2: digi-pack deconstruction

Taylor Swift is a singer-songwriter, similar to my artist. ‘Red’ was her fourth studio album to be released.

The use of the red colour scheme throughout the poster reflects the name of the album which will help the audience remember what it’s called. The red font used for the title is good because it is very eye-catching (probably the first thing the audience will notice) as it stands out against the black and white photo which fills the poster. The artist’s name is less obvious than the title as it is the same colour as the background.

The long shot of her is large and causes her body to fill the

right side of the page. The audience

are likely to recognise her due to her worldwide success, grabbing

their attention. This is probably why her

name is not as noticeable as the

title. However, she is not looking at the

camera to create direct mode of

address which is unstereotyical for

an advert.

The advert includes the names of two of her most famous singles on the album. This encourages the audience as, if they are slightly unsure who Taylor Swift is, they might recognise the song titles and then want to listen to the whole album, increasing sales and therefore profit.

There is a small image of the album which shows fans what to look for when buying the CD.

There is information about

where you can purchase the album and the date of the

release. There’s is also a link to her

website which helps gain users on

her online page and publicity.
