Power SharingPower sharing is the distribution of power/ subjects among the organs of the government like legislature, executive and judiciary. It is an intelligent step to ensure the stability of political order. Besides, power sharing also includes sharing at different levels like union, state and local.

DIFFERENCES BETWEEN BELGIUM & SRI LANKA

BELGIUMBelgium is an European country.

SRILANKA Srilanka is an Asian country.

BELGIUMBelgium is a small country in Europe which has borders with France, Netherlands, Germany and Luxemburg .

SRILANKA Srilanka is an island nation, just a few kilometers off the southern coast of Tamil Nadu .

BELGIUMBelgium has a population of a little of 1 crore, about half the population of Haryana.

SRILANKA Srilanka has diverse population with about 2 crore people , about the same as Haryana.

BELGIUMOf Belgiums total population , 59% are Dutch speaking people who live in the Flemish region , 40% are French speaking people who live in the Wallonia region. Remaining 1% speak German.

SRILANKA Total Srilankan population has 74% Sinhala-speakers , 18% Tamil speakers and the rest 13% are called Srilankan Tamils.

BELGIUMIn Belgium, power was shared among different speaking group and the capital had different government.

SRILANKA In Srilanka majoritaria-nism was followed.

BELGIUMThe majority of Srilankas are Buddhists. Rest are Hindus , Muslims , and Christians.

SRILANKAIn Srilanka there was tremendous unrest between the Sinhalese and the Srilankans as well as Indian Tamils which ended in a Civil War. BELGIUM In Belgium there was no point of discomfort between the Dutch , French and German speaking people. The Dutch and the French enjoy equal representation in the central government.

BELGIUMThe government policies denied the people equal political rights , discriminated against them in getting jobs and other opportunities and ignored their interest.SRILANKAThe constitution and the government policies do not promote discrimination of any form among its people.
