As the teacher talks about topics you are studying, the information they provide is very important especially when you take test. You must able to take good written notes from what she says.

Taking good notes is a three- stage process ( before, during, after, class).
1. Get ready to take notes (before class)
review your previous notes complete all assigned readings bring all the note taking
materials

2. Take Notes ( During Class)
focus your attention on what the teacher is saying
“signal statements” is important to write in your notes ( “the most important point..”, and “ remember that..”)
write information that is always repeating/ writing in the chalkboard
write quickly to include important information using abbreviated words, using symbols as % for percent and writing short sentences

SQRW- is a four step strategy for reading and taking notes from chapters in a textbook
SURVEY- brings to mind that what you already know
about such topics of chapter and prepares you for learning more
read title, introduction, headings, summary or conclusion
examine all visuals ( pictures, table, map, and/ or graphs and read the caption)

Therefore, using SQRW you find to learn more and have good study notes to use to prepare in class participation.
