History of distance education and technology
The first version of distance education, developed in the mid-nineteenth century in Europe, the United States, and spread swiftly.
In 1873, Anna Ticknow established a society that presented educational opportunities to women of all classes to study at home but it didn’t succeed.
Thomas J. Foster started home-study courses in mine safety in the 1880s, as well. These courses grew to become the International Correspondence School.

instructional radio appears between 1910 and 1920. But this technology failed to attract a large audience, and by 1940, only one college-level credit course was still offered through instructional radio. then the instructional radio was developed to instructional television in the mid-20th century
