1st of October 1960. – the Faculty of Engineering formally
started working and the Department of Electronic was part
of it (129 regular and 134 part-time students)
15th of June 1965. – the University of Niš was founded
23rd of November 1968. – by decision of the Parlament of
the People’s Republic of Serbia the Faculty of Electronic
Engineering Niš started its independent existence (269
regular and 27 part-time students)
1971 – Electronic Computer Center, based on IBM 1130
computer, began to work
24th June 1982 – the Faculty of Electronic Engineering was
moved into a new, modern building (over 25000sqm, with 4
lecture halls, 40 classrooms, 20 laboratories, library,

1. The studies are carried out through two curricula: A.(academic) of 4+1+3 years duration.- First four years fundamental studies, with gaining the diploma
of electrical engineer (=B.Sc.)
- Next year: graduate studies, after finished diploma paper exam, a candidate gains the rank of a graduate electrical engineer (=M.Sc.)
- Three years: doctoral studies. After the doctoral thesis defense a candidate gains the rank of doctor of technical sciences (=Ph.D.)
