AP Environmental Science

Current Events ArticlesOne of the goals of this course is for you to become more aware of current environmental issues. This will help you become a more informed citizen and help you with the AP Test (as College Board likes current events!). These articles will be filed in the classroom, as a resource for the entire class.

1. You must find 9 news articles each term. Articles must:a. Be a minimum of 250 wordsb. Come from a reputable news source (print or online)c. Must include at least 2 about local issues (Frederick County)d. Must be dated within the dates of the term

2. On a white sheet of computer paper: a. In the top left corner type:

i. Article Titleii. Article Author

iii. Article Dateiv. Your Name and the date

b. In the top right corner type:i. The Unit that your article best fits with.

3. Type a summary of the article (including basic facts, main issue, location of issue, those affected, etc). Be sure to include any controversy surrounding the issue. Finally, include your opinion of the issue or the author’s point of view. Your summary should be no less than 100 words.

4. Neatly attach your complete article to the paper (glue, tape, staple). 5. Your first nine articles are due no later than March 22nd. Your second nine articles are due no later than

May 3rd. Late articles will not be accepted.
