“The 16 Jutges” (16 judges)

·They were in charge of promoting the New Song movement.

·“Els Setze Jutges” was a group of Catalan singers in Catalan language founded in 1961.

·Its name comes from the tongue-twister "sixteen judges of a court eat the liver of a Hangman"

·They began to dissolve at the end of the dictatorship, in 1968, and with the progressive professionalization of some of its members

“La Nova Cançó” (The New Song)·It was a movement that took place in the musical landscape of the

Catalan countries, during the general Franco’s dictatorship.

·The songs complaint and claim for political freedoms, which led to administrative difficulties and official prohibitions.

·It was a new genre, articulated as a movement around the claim language and ethical democratic presuppositions.

·Little by little, the Catalan language, started getting small cracks of public presence.

Fútbol Club Barcelona

On November 29, 1899, Hans Gamper founded Fútbol Club Barcelona, along with eleven other enthusiasts of 'foot-ball', a game that was still largely unknown in this part of the world.

FCB as a symbol and ‘more than a club’

Barça has become, for millions of people all around the world, a symbol of their identity, and not just in a sporting sense, but also in terms of society, politics and culture.

Throughout the most difficult of times, Barça was the standard that represented Catalonia and the Catalan people's desire for freedom, a symbolism that has continued to be closely linked to the peculiar characteristic of the Club and its members to this day.

All projects FC Barcelona Foundation is developed based on the following premises:

- The use of sport as the backbone

- The promotion of education and the positive values of sport

- Children and adolescents as objective beneficiaries

- The projection of Catalonia through FC Barcelona

FCB Foundation (II)

From 2006 the Club has been adhered to the United Nations 'Millennium Development Goals” and yields 0.7% of ordinary income from FC Barcelona to the Foundation for its projects.

Since 2010, the players and coaching staff from the professional sections of the Club have also donated 0.5% of their wages to the Foundation.
