Similarities/Differences

• NME and Kerrang both use only one page for their contents and Q uses two. This is because Q is released monthly as opposed to NME and Kerrang that are released weekly, so it has more information to provide on its contents page.

• All three examples use columns, this helps the reader find what they are looking for quickly and easily.

• All examples have a main image and then a selection of smaller images. This helps to draw attention to the main articles in the magazine.

• Compared to Kerrang and Q, NME’s contents page is quite simple. It does not have as many sections to it.

• Kerrang is the only page to have an editor’s letter, this makes the magazine feel a little more personal and engages the reader.

• Both NME and Kerrang have subscription advertisements on their contents pages, this encourages regular readers to subscribe to the magazine and save themselves some money.
