Coniferous forests stretch cold in northern Europe, Asia and North America, and the tip of South America, between the territories occupied by
temperate grasslands and tundra of the polar region.
CLIMATE• The temperatures of the coniferous forests between 10
° C and 20 º C in summer and -15 ° C and 5 º C in winter.
• Coniferous forests often cover mountainsides. Trees are tall and narrow, so snow will slide off the branches without breaking them.
FLORA• Some of the species that inhabit coniferous forests
are cold spruces, firs, larches, pines, birches, mosses and ferns as well. Usually found tall trees.

beavers, squirrels, porcupines, skunks, moose, marmots, hares, lynx, deer, rabbits, black bears and wolves.
