Competition with other magazines Music genre for my magazine is heavy metal/hard rock, so my potential competitors might be other heavy metal and rock magazines because we will be competing for influence over the same audience (people who like rock/heavy metal). So my potential competitors would be magazines like: 1) Metal Hammer This magazine has interesting columns, reviews and interviews, they also have a section covering up and coming and extreme bands. The size of the magazine is also larger, which allows for bigger photos and a better layout of content. 2)Terrorizer This is another UK heavy metal magazine, but it is readily available in most major bookstores. It covers more extreme and underground artists than Metal Hammer. They have a ton of live reviews in addition to the CD reviews and interviews. Terrorizer is a magazine on the rise. Competition with other magazines

Music genre for my magazine is heavy metal/hard rock, so my potential competitors might be other heavy metal and rock magazines because we will be competing for influence over the same audience (people who like rock/heavy metal). So my potential competitors would be magazines like:

1) Metal HammerThis magazine has interesting columns, reviews and interviews, they also have a section covering up and coming and extreme bands.

The quality of writing and photography has really improved in the past few years, and they have become one of the definitive metal magazines.

3)KerrangThis is another UK publication, and by far the most mainstream and the most popular mentioned in this list. The style of the magazine seems to be a lot more hype driven, which makes for both high praise and scathing criticism.

How to stand out from my competitionIn order for my magazine to stand out from the competition I will to get the attention of the target audience and convince it that it is more beneficial for them to buy my magazine. And there are several ways to do it, which are:1) Price. As most of the target audience for heavy metal magazines are young, energetic

people, aged 16-25, it is obvious that most of them are students and are on low paid part time jobs, so by decreasing the price of my magazine I can make it more available for them.

2) Make my pictures and font attractive. By doing so I can make my magazine stand out and make it look good for the readers, so there is a higher chance of them buying the magazine

3) Make the textual detail of the magazine interesting . As I said earlier most of the target audience of heavy metal and rock magazines are young and energetic people, so I don’t think I should add a lot of text into my magazine and make it look boring, because it will not suit the needs of my audience.
