Located in the center of Arges County, in the great depression called Getic Subcarpathians, at 15 km from Pitesti City (the residence of the county) and 125 km from Bucharest (the Capital City), on DN 73, Mioveni Town has a varied landscape, with a surface crossed by three rivers: Lady River, Fair River and Argesel River.

We have a young small town with a lot of blocks of flats. All of them have only four levels. There are also a few houses at the edge of the town. In the latest time many businessmen built shops, companies and big houses with two levels but with many rooms. There are a lot of cars in our town. In fact, Mioveni Town is the heart of the Romanian car.

Mioveni Town has a history of 524 years. It was first documented, as historical sources reveals, in 1485. Its name comes from a local prince, Mihu (Mihov Slavonic) Mihoveni (Mioveni), making direct reference to the inhabitants of this social formation. The main historical landmarks of Mioveni Town come down to early human social development, as a fact attested by polished stone tools discovered in adjacent areas as well as pottery from the Bronze Age. Until 1989, the current town was a suburban commune of Pitesti City and it was called Colibasi. On April 19, 1989, by presidential decree, it became Colibasi Town. Since 1996, as a result of steps taken by the Government and Parliament of Romania, local authorities, Colibasi Town returns to the old name, Mioveni, instrument repair the moral, if one takes into account that the current focus is on the hearth of the old urban village demolished all to make way for new construction. In 1968 there were the first Dacia cars fitted, the industrial platform maintaining a steady pace of development. Agriculture, since the area is not a large agricultural area, was based almost exclusively on vegetable growing, fruit growing and cultivation of small areas of cereals, especially for livestock or for subsistence.

With a strong economy, with a great human potential and benefiting from significant natural resources, Mioveni Town is between the first cities in the country in terms of growth and has real prospects to continue developing in a sustaining manner in all areas of social life. Romanian traditional hospitality, with beautiful Argesean lands and attractiveness of the economic potential of the county, is irrefutable arguments for inclusion Mioveni Town on the map priorities, including such investment for future internal and external partners.

Our town has turned into one European,

with wide boulevards, with unique cultural organizations, among which must be mentioned House of Culture, one of the largest in the country, and the new Orthodox Cathedral, which is unique. Recently it has been amended into new market "Dacia" in the town. Downstairs, the new commercial space market has produced food, butcher, sanitary, administrative facilities, offices, central heating etc. On the first floor, there are 13 commercial spaces for packaged food and non food products, sanitary and administrative areas. Second floor has space for catering to dining room, terrace and ancillary areas.

Along the years, the work of the Cultural Center Mioveni was held in accordance with the schedule of cultural activities approved, taking part in various aspects: organizing, collaborating, often called the line up and judging. These activities had as main objectives the art education of public through specific programs and the support given to the young artists asserting their values, research, conservation, recovery in terms of cultural activities and promoting artists.

followed through locally organized exhibitions the public awareness of what art means and need to maintain the continuity of the prestige enjoyed by artists Arges.

"Europe Mioveni" provides us information about: advantages and disadvantages of integration of Romania into the European Union, repayable grants and grants, how to obtain a grant or grants for students, how to get in touch with young people have benefited from a scholarship abroad and information about countries of the European Union and the countries seeking to join the European Union.

Voluntary Service for emergency situations firefighters join Firefighters Unit of the town in order to develop social solidarity of the residents of Mioveni Town in the prevention of emergencies and the intervention in real situations.

In Mioveni it builds largest Orthodox cathedral in the

county, perhaps one of the largest in the country. This lies in the civic center of town and is dedicated to St. Peter and Paul. The construction is at an advanced stage of finalization, the praying of religious services being still in the basement of the building. Mioveni Town has 3 churches: “St. Nicholas”, “St. Peter and Paul” and St. George”. There are monuments of the heroes in the yard of the Culture House Colibaşi, in the yard of “Liviu Rebreanu” School Mioveni, as well as in Racoviţa and Faget Districts..

In the churchyard of Mioveni, is located a stone cross, known to locals as "Cross Heroes". This is a memorial plaque dedicated to the heroes of the village Colibaşi, lives in combat. The author is N. Bakery memorial plate originating in Mioveni.

There are also architectural monuments such as Vierosi Monastery and Racovita Mansion.
