The text I used• For my masthead of my features page I searched the internet for

letters in the style of newspaper cut outs, I then cropped them individually on paint and placed them on my page to create a spontaneous, edgy feel to my page and therefore my artist.

• This is the font I have used for things such as the artists name and the pull quote, I have decided to use this font throughout my magazine such as the contents page and front cover.

• This is the font I have used to ask the questions to my artist as it is a clear separation between the questions and the answers.

• I decided to use a simple font for the answers to the question as there is a danger of using too many fonts and creating a page which is too busy.

PicturesFor my artist I took pictures of my friend and placed her against several backgrounds, including a red background, which relates to her name ‘Roxy Rouge’. I wanted my artist to be a bit edgy and weird so we tried to create a posed shot that wasn’t your typical photo shoot. I used direct address to make the readers feel like they are connected personally to the artist. I edited the pictures slightly and gave it a higher contrast in order to make the picture more striking. I used a purple border around the pictures to emphasise them against the black background and purple is one of my house colours.

House colours

• Throughout my feature pages I used three main colours; black, white and dark purple.

• I feel white writing on a black background or ‘w.o.b’ is very effective and easy to read due to the contrast. Black also accentuates the rock image I am trying to represent throughout my magazine.

• I have also used the colour dark purple as I think it is a uni-sex colour- and due to my reader profile my ideal readers are almost 50/50 when it comes to sex. This colour isn’t used in most magazines so creates a brand identity for my own magazine.
