Expectancy - UNESCO has found acorrelation between illiteracy and

actions did the people do ? International Literacy Day - September
8 wasproclaimed International Literacy Day by UNESCOon November 17,
1965. It was first celebrated in1966. Its aim is to highlight the
importance ofliteracy to individuals, communities and societies.On
International Literacy Day each year, UNESCOreminds the
international community of the status ofliteracy and adult learning
