Tertiary Education• Hamilton City has two Institute Buildings to help cope

with the high proportion of C.C.N.Z. students who move into tertiary education.

• In 2002 there were 430 College aged students (those attending University or a Polytechnic) enrolled in the Hamilton Institute programme.

C.C.N.Z. Graduates & University Education

• One in 14 Polynesians in New Zealand (Maori and Pacific Islander) will enter a University.

• One in two Polynesians graduating from The Church College of New Zealand will enter a University.

• A significant number will also move into other fields of tertiary education.

Sporting Achievements• Currently, C.C.N.Z. holds the New Zealand Secondary

School Girls National Basketball Champion Title.

• The school also holds the New Zealand Secondary School Boys National Basketball Champion Title.

• The Senior Rugby team is often ranked in the top 16 in the country.

Teachers• All 50 teachers are active LDS members, qualified in their

respective fields. 30 of them are former students of the College.

• All hold the appropriate level of teacher registration with the New Zealand Teachers’ Council.

• There are no children of current employees that attend a high school other than The Church College of New Zealand.

Government Financial Assistance

The Church College of New Zealand is allocated a sum of money each year by the Government in recognition that tax paying parents, who have children at CCNZ, are not accessing their entitled tax funded high school education. For 2003 the sum allocated is $NZ 1.6 million. Under the direction of the Church Board of Education the allocated funds are not uplifted. (Only strings attached is that it is only offered on a year by year basis, beyond the year no obligations on by party)

• An even greater emphasis on developing a school culture that is centered on President Hinckley’s nine B’s.

• A continuing emphasis on students furthering their education, thus lifting the socio-economic profile of the L.D.S. Church in New Zealand and placing members in positions of influence, thus helping the growth of the kingdom in New Zealand.
