The Tower of London

• Chevy’s first stop on his tour of London was the Tower of London. This castle has a very sordid history.

• It was the home to many of the Kings and Queens of England.

• Many people were held prisoner there. Some were even murdered!

Big Ben

• Next stop was Big Ben which is right by the buildings of Parliament. Parliament is where the laws are made in the United Kingdom.

• Big Ben is the largest 4-faced chiming clock and 3rd tallest free standing clock tower in the world.

• The clock first started ticking on May 31st 1859. It turned 151 this year!

• Do you know how many hands Big Ben has?

The River Thames & The London Eye

• The River Thames runs through London. On the bank of the River Thames is the London Eye.

• The London Eye opened in March 2000 and was known as the Millennium Eye.

• A trip on the London eye takes you up about 135 meters or approximately 443 feet. Since you’re in a glass capsule you can see for 40 kilometers or approximately 25 miles in any direction!
