“...arguably the most innovative undergraduate engineering design program in America...”

What?

In essence, Capstone is:

A team of senior undergraduate engineering students completing your engineering task over the course of two semesters. The team is supported by a team of faculty, experts in their respective fields. The problem is analyzed, the team brainstorms possible solutions, evaluates each on its own merits, then prototypes and tests the optimum solution. A wide range of product development and process development types of projects are completed each year. Each project customer receives full analysis, bill of material, specifications, and alpha level prototype with initial qualification test data. Each student on the team receives an invaluable ‘real world’ experience, entering the work force as an effective engineer from day one. This is their first job, not their last class…

“This team has laid the groundwork for achieving a fundamental design improvement for Tyco. If team #2 maintains the level of performance of team #1, Tyco will have leapfrogged their competition in this market, and will have achieved a significant competitive advantage.”

Mark Van Dover, President, Tyco Fire Suppression Systems
