How does magician trick our brain??

• Do you know that our brain cannot multitask?• Eye-grabbing distractions- crudest ways to

exploit brain processes that allow manipulations.

• Magicians alter what the brain perceives by manipulating how it interprets scenes.

• After discharge; a ghostly image of the object lingers for a moment

WHAT IS THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN BRAIN AND VISUAL

ILLUSION?

Page 5: Brainbox

WHEN YOUR BRAINS CANNOT BELIEVE YOUR EYES

• An illusion is proof that you don't always see what you think you do -- because of the way your brain and your entire visual system perceive and interpret an image.

• Visual illusions happens due to properties of the visual areas of the brain as they receive and process information.

Page 6: Brainbox

• Your perception of an illusion has more to do with how your brain works. It has less to do with your eyes.

• An illusion is a mismatch between immediate visual impression and the actual properties of the object. (Michael Bach)

Page 7: Brainbox

• Everything which enters our sense needs to be interpreted through the brain.

• However, these interpretations occasionally go wrong and that is when visual illusion occurs.

Page 8: Brainbox

• Instead of calling it “optical illusions”, scientists agree on “visual illusion.

• Instead of thinking that you cannot trust your eyes, you really should be saying, “I cannot always trust my visual system,” (Michael Bach)

• The visual system includes not only the eyes but the optic nerve, which links to the brain; and the primary visual cortex, the area of the brain that processes visual information.
