The villages which form Botijas Valley are:
Mélida de Peñafiel Olmos de Peñafiel Castrillo de Duero Cuevas de Provanco
Botijas Valley has got about 440 inhabitants during the year but in summer the number of residents increases.
We can access to Botijas Valley from Peñafiel by going along the VA- VP- 2006 road.We can see some wineries and vineyards like Carraovejas along these road.Botijas Valley has this name because Botijas stream has shaped this land along the time.
Mélida de Peñafiel:In this village festivals are around the
first week of July.We celebrate the festival of Isabel Virgin.
Olmos de Peñafiel:In this village festivals are around the
first week of September.We celebrate the patronal festivals of St
Antolín.

Castrillo de Duero:In this village festivals are around the
last week of August and the first week of September.
We celebrate the festival of Socorro and Asunción Virgin.
Cuevas de Provanco:In this village festivals are on 15th
August and on 16th of August.We celebrate the festival of the Asunción
Virgin and St Roque.
Mélida de Peñafiel: We can visit the Church of St Isabel. In this village there is a very big baptismal font in the middle of the square, inside the gardens; there is also an old beautiful fountain, Mélida’s people call it ’’el pilón’’ where they celebrate an old tradition in every wedding.
• Olmos de Peñafiel:
In Olmos de Peñafiel there is a flour and honey museum.
This museum is inside a wheat mill.
This mill is more than 300 years old.
Castrillo de Duero: People can visit “El Empecinado” which was a very important historical character.
We can go across the underground wineries.
We can find an old fortress from the Middle Ages from which The Village of Cuevas was defended.
If you come, you can get many tours through the beautiful natural surroundings around the township of Cuevas de Provanco.
