Binary Logistic Regression Example

1. Open the dataset “StormEvac.xls” in SPSS.

2. Click “Analyze” then “Regression” then “Binary Logistic”.

3. In the Logistic Regression dialogue box, enter “Evacuate” as the dependent variable. Enter

“Income” and “HasCollege” as Covariates.

4. Because “HasCollege” is a dummy variable, we must indicate that it is a categorical variable.

In the Logistic Regression dialogue box, click “Categorical”. Then enter “HasCollege” as a

Categorical Covariate. Then click “Continue”. Then “OK”.
