Rain , Snow , Sleet or Shine children all around the world love to learn about the different types of weather there is. This will be a fun experience for the children and a new way for them to learn something new.

What We Will Be Doing In Class:• We will be learning about all kinds of weather in the season changes•We will make a weather journal about different types of weather•We will create a weather poem in class

In groups you will research different types of weather and make a weather journal. Once the research is done you will design a cover for the journal and use the information you found and record it in your journal.

Once your journal is complete your group will make a weather poem that will be put on display in the library.

• While researching the chosen weather pattern draw a picture of the weather pattern in your weather journal. Make sure to place the picture in the correct season of the journal. If the weather occurs in more than one season draw a picture in both areas of your journal.

• After researching this weather pattern take your weather book and illustrate this weather pattern in the correct season. Once you are finished illustrating your page you will need to choose another weather pattern.

Winter: Snow

Snow is made of tiny crystals of frozen water vapor. Lots of ice crystals joined together make a snowflake. Snowflakes come in all different shapes, and no two snowflakes are ever exactly the same. It usually snows in late fall and winter.

Spring: Rain

Rain is liquid water in the form of droplets that have condensed from atmospheric water vapor and then precipitated. Rain is a major component of the water cycle and is responsible for depositing most of the fresh water on the planet.

Summer: Humidity/Heat

Humidity is the amount of water vapor in the air. Water vapor is the gas phase of water and is invisible. Humidity indicates the likelihood of precipitation, dew, or fog.. This effect is calculated in a heat index table, used during summer weather

Fall: Cool Air and Frost

In fall the leaves begin to change color from bright greens to warm oranges and reds. During the fall months the air becomes cooler and frost sets in. Frost is the solid form of water vapors. It forms when solids are cooled below freezing point.
