GRASP K-8th GradeGRASP, Grand Rapids Academic Summer P rogram, is a correspondenceprogram in reading and math for grades K-8. The program seeks to help stu­dents retain skills learned during the past school year by providing review ex­ercises. How does GRASP work? A student is enrolled in reading and/ormath in the grade level just completed. Children receive a packet of materialswith a booklet containing 9 lessons. It should take your child approximatelyone hour to complete each weekly lesson. They complete one lesson a weekor work at their own pace, as long as they submit lessons before August21st. They mail or return the lessons to the Community Learning Centerwhere they are scored and returned to the children with comments. We alsohave an online option for students 4th-8th grade. Children successfully com­pleting at least 7 lessons with 70% accuracy are awarded a certificate. Thosecompleting all 9 lessons with 70% accuracy receive a medal.
