This question allowed us to see whether or not there is a market for a movie like ours. The opinions of the people in the survey would greatly influence their answers.

WHAT WOULD YOU ADD TO THE SCRIPT TO MAKE IT MORE REALISTIC?

These answers are very important in the development of the script. The more realistic the script the scarier the production. Realism is also what will attract the audience to watch the film.

By BBFC regulations, our opening is rated as an 18 due to the graphic content and the psychological allusions.

WHAT AGE RATING WOULD YOU PLACE THE FILM AT?

Within the genre of horror, music and sound effects is very important as it adds to the suspense and fear of the scene. A crescendo is typically associated with fear for an impending action so the placement of the crescendo music is very important.

WHICH PARTS OF THE OPENING DO YOU FEEL SHOULD HAVE A CLIMATIC CRESCENDO RISE IN MUSIC?

The decision to not include dialogue was inspired by out research pieces. There is also an increased sense of mystery as to who is the murderer and without dialogue it would be anyone.

DOES IT FIT THE GENRE AND ATMOSPHERE THAT THERE IS NO DIALOGUE IN THE OPENING?

WHAT PARTS DID YOU ENJOY THE MOST AND WHY?

This is an important question because we are making this production to please an audience, therefore figuring out which parts the audience like will allow us to know which parts to focus on and which to improve on.

WHAT PARTS SEEMED OUT OF PLACE?Incongruence within the production will make the audience lose interest due to not knowing where the story is going. This will mean that people wouldn't like the production. Finding out what parts don’t fit and limiting these areas will allow us not only to conform to the genre conventions of a horror but will satisfy the needs of the audience.

This is a very positive response that indicates to us that we have successfully conformed to the typical genre conventions included within a horror as well as complying to the aspects that will create audience satisfaction of our production.

DO YOU THINK THAT ANY ADJUSTMENTS NEED TO BE MADE IN TERMS OF LIGHTING, SOUND, CAMERA?

In addition to the features that are within the scenes, the way it is presented through the camera, lighting etc. are very important. Clarity is needed when showing this production to the audience so that the purpose of the production as well as the entertainment it provides is clearly shown.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTSThe logistics of how the title sequence is to be set wasn’t fully explained within the script due to the fact that it requires technical aspects as opposed to things that would need to be included in the script.
