Career Beginning

• Beyoncé started out as part of a hit girl group Destiny’s Child, along with Kelly Rowland, LaTavia, LaToya and later Michelle Williams, the group started out in 1990 and have made many hits like “Independent Woman” “Survivor” and “Say My Name”

• In 2003 Beyoncé became a solo artist with the album “Dangerously In Love” more commonly known by the hit “Crazy In Love” with her now husband Jay Z, the album reached the number 1 spot in the UK, USA and Australia

• She later went on to make more studio albums, “B’Day”, “I Am… Sasha Fierce”, “4” and “BEYONCÉ”. She married her husband JAY Z in 2008 and had her baby named Blue Ivy in 2012

• In December 2013 Beyoncé unexpectedly released her 5th studio album named BEYONCÉ

• The album was randomly put on iTunes at midnight on Friday 13th December causing a hysteric response on social media and in the news. The album became the fastest selling album in the history of iTunes and was said to pave a new way of releasing music to avoid pirate copies. The album was released to retailers one week later

• Beyoncé has said the reason she chose to unexpectedly release the album is because she wanted people to be excited about every song on the album, not just the one song

• There were also music videos to every song on the album

• Beyoncé is known for her great stage presence and performances. When on stage she is known as her “alter-ego” “Sasha Fierce”

• Beyoncé has worked with artists like Lady Gaga, JAY Z, Shakira, Alicia Keys, Justin Timberlake, Pharell, Drake, Frank Ocean, Kanye West and Nicki Minaj

• She is signed to the label Columbia

How is it funded?

• Beyoncé is an extremely successful woman, according to Forbes she is the 7th richest female artist in the world.

• Her success has led to her creating continuous music, albums and tours, and its funded through various ways

• Her money comes from album and merchandise sales

• Also her money comes from sponsorships, for example she has worked with retailers like H&M and American supermarket Target by releasing the Deluxe Version of her album exclusively at Target, lots of artists do this.

• Her is produced and written by various people, some artists, including herself

Fans• Having not tweeted in over a

year, Beyoncé still has a huge following of over 13 Million followers on Twitter and 65 Million fans on Facebook

• Every single album she has made has reached number 1 in the USA, making her have 5 consecutive US Billboard number 1s

• She has done 6 tours (one being a joint tour with JAY Z)

• She has preformed more times in the London O2 Arena than anywhere else in the world

• Her 2009 I Am… World Tour made over $120,000,000

• Beyoncé sees herself as a feminist, which is clear on her latest studio album. The album has a song called “Partition” in which at the end there is a speech about feminism in French which is extremely raunchy

• She also has a sample of a speech about feminism in her song Flawless, which is about women, and men showing off and flaunting themselves.
