Angels Allah created certain creatures from light, and concealed them from our sight. These creatures are called angels. A lot of work has been entrusted to them. They never do any thing contrary to the orders of Allah. They do whatever work has been assigned to them. Allah conveyed His message to prophets including Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) through an angel Jibrael.Angels record man’s words and deeds. This record will be presented to him on the Day of Judgment.

Life After Death

Belief in life after death, the day of judgment, bodily resurrection and heaven and hell is one of article of Faith in Islam. Death is an absolute certainty. According to the Holy Qur’an: الموت ذائقة نفس Every soul shall have a كلtaste of death, and must pass away.A man’s life on this earth ends with his death, after which another life begins. The Qiyamat Sughra (lesser judgment) takes place immediately after death.Quran says: (Room:40)

“Allah is the One who created you, then gave sustenance to you, then He

will make you dead, then He willmake you alive. Is there any one fromyour (so-called) partners of God’ whocan do anything of that (kind)? Pure is

He, and far higher than what theyassociate (with Him).

Barzah is the place or state in which people will be after death and before Judgment… it is therefore, the intermediate state in which the soul is placed after death till the resurrection. In the Holy Quran: (Surah Muminoon:100)

“And in front of such people there is abarrier till the day when they will be resurrected.”

Heaven and HellThe two states of Heaven and Hell are not spiritual. They will be experienced in physical forms by the new bodies with which Allah will raise men up. The inhabitant of Heaven will experience happiness and joy and the inhabitants of Hell will experience burning and punishment.

Barzakh

Page 22: Articles of faith- Islamic Studies

Quran states: (Surah Infitar:13)“Surely the righteous will be in bliss and the sinners in Hell.”

Righteous people will enjoy in the Heaven forever and Disbelievers will stay in the Hell forever. Muslim sinners will stay in the Hell temporarily then they will enter the Heaven in last.

Predestination

Allah has knowledge of everything in his creation. Nothing occurs except by his will. Human beings are given free will. The choices that humans make are all within Allah's knowledge. The destiny of everything is written in Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuud (The Preserved Tablet). According to this belief, a person's action is not caused by what is written in the Preserved Tablet but, rather, the action is written in the Preserved Tablet because God already knows all occurrences without the restrictions of time. It is similar to someone who watches the movie second time, he knows what will happen next but for the first time watcher the next move is unknown.

Page 24: Articles of faith- Islamic Studies

Some benefits of belief in predestination:• It makes the believer courageous and never

afraid to say the truth. because he knows well that the span of his lifetime is predestined.

• It renders man responsible, before Allah, for his actions and deeds which he performs out of his free will and choice.

• When a person believes in predestination, he knows that everything happens according to the Knowledge and Wisdom of Allah. When he is afflicted with a calamity, he is patient and never shows discontent. When he is successful, he thanks Allah and never becomes proud or arrogant.

• It urges man to work and utilize the means required for success and then put his trust in Allah.
