An estimated 2,000,000 animals are used in research in the U.S. each year.   Since 1600, more than 700 species of plants and animals have gone extinct.   Some major fast food companies, including Burger King, Subway and Wendy’s, and retailers Wal-Mart and Trader Joe’s, have made some level of commitment to purchase or sell cage-free eggs. Even McDonald’s in Europe has committed to being 100% cage-free by 2010, but the board of directors of McDonald’s in the United States rejected a proposal by the Humane Society to make just 5% of it’s There are 4-6 million homeless pets in the U.S. in need of a good homes.

In many cases, organizations or individuals who describe themselves as animal rights advocates may support animal welfare efforts as an intermediate step on the path to a true animal rights solution. Cat Abuse

Cats are high maintenance pets you need to feed them brush, them  pet them, and give them a litter box. here is a quote from http://www.all-creatures.org/anex/cat-abuse-02.html Coral Hull said that the stench of the decaying flesh was overwhelming.  These feral cats have been hung up by their hind legs as a warning to tourists traveling through the area with their companion cats and dogs.  Such reasoning could only come from the pit of hell.  Anyone who would dump a companion animal is also evil; since, obviously, they don't care about the welfare of the animal.

                                      Sheep Abuse  {People seem to think sheep abuse is some kind of a joke.They don’t realise the seriousness behind it. I can assure you that it is not at all funny for the victims.                                                Dog Abuse  Pound seizure is a blight on any shelter that allows the practice. It is a betrayal of public trust in the purpose of sheltering homeless, unwanted, abused or neglected animals. Seventeen states plus the District of Columbia have passed laws banning pound seizure. Yet the remaining states allow the practice, and three mandate it (Minnesota, Oklahoma and Utah). Pound seizure is also detrimental to shelters because once citizens find out that a shelter practices pound seizure, they become resistant to donating money to that shelter, and hesitant to surrender stray animals to the shelter or call in complaints of abuse or neglect for fear of what might happen to the animals. http://www.americanhumane.org/advocacy/stop-pound-seizure.html
