The level of reality The level of dreams

In this level are Theseus and Egeus. They represent the authority and order.

This level is represented by the city of Athens.

It happens during the day when there is light.

This level is where everyday actions, where logic and reason become boring.

The level of reality

In this level we can place all the women in the play; Lysander, Demetrius, Oberon and Puck who represent madness and instinct.

This level is represented by the Wood.

It happends during the night when there is darkness.

This level is where magic happens and dreams can come true.

The level of dreams

Psychoanalysis refers to unconscious forces that motivate human behavior.

Sigmund Freud, a Viennese doctor, studied human behavior (emotions, thoughts and dreams).

Psychoanalysis

We can see how the fairies have a crucial role in the lives of men.

They rule over the lives of men; cause and solve the problems between them.

They would reflect, therefore, the subconscious of each person, because it is them the only ones who control everything from the shadows.
