In 1937 the society started its first college named Lalbhai Dalpatbhai Arts College followed by Hargovinddas Lakshmichand College of Commerce and later went on start colleges in every field like science, commerce, pharmacy, engineering, architecture, management, etc.

Ahmedabad Education Society was established in 1935.

The society was established under the leadership of Ganesh Mavalankar ,Kasturbhai Lalbhai and Amritlal Hargovandas, who pooled in their money, resources and influence under inspiration Sardar Vallabhai Patel, who felt there was an urgent need to develop Gujarat in the education front, as an extension of freedom struggle. In 2009 AES founded Ahmedabad University.

Mr. Sanjay Lalbhai is the chairman and managing director, Arvind Limited,(formerly the Arvind Mills Ltd.) a large integrated textile mill, a company presiding over the businesses of textiles, clothing, and infrastructure development. He is presiding over the operations of all the textile and clothing actitivies of the Lalbhai Group. Mr Lalbhai is on the Board of Governors of the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. He is also the president of Ahmedabad Education Society, presiding over a number of well known educational institutions, in Gujarat. Dr. Amarlal H KarloAU – Provost

Dr. Kalro is a recipient of several scholastic and teaching excellence awards. His research publications are in the areas of OR modeling, inventory management, organization behaviour, irrigation and water management, management of educational institutions and institution building in reputed International and Indian Journals. Dr. Kalro was presented “The Life Time Achievement Award” by The Indian Society of Operations Management in December, 2006, and awards from Ahmedabad Management Association, Ahmedabad (February 2007) and School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi (April 2009) for his “Contributions to Management”.

Dr. R. A. MashelkarFormer Director General CSIR

He is the former Director General of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) a chain of 38 publicly funded industrial research and development institutions in India. Dr. Mashelkar is presently the president of Global Research Alliance, a network of publicly funded research and development institutes from Asia-Pacific, South Africa, Europe and USA with over 60,000 scientists. He is also the President of India's National Innovation Foundation.He is deeply committed to championing the cause of the developing world.

Shri Saurabh Natwarlal Soparkar is a Senior Advocate practicing in the High Court of Gujarat and the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal, Ahmedabad. Had been standing counsel for the Income Tax Dept for three years from 1986-89. Contributed papers at various residential seminars conducted by ICAI, BCA etc. Shri Soparkar is a Visiting Professor at IIM Ahmedabad on the subject of "Corporate Tax Planning" and "Legal Aspects of Business".

Was member of Expert Advisory Committee of ICAI, New Delhi during 2005-06 and member of Financial Reporting Review Group (Ahmedabad) for 2008-09. Mr. Shah has 34 years of experience as the Head – Finance and IT Systems of Arvind Mills.

Dr. Bhavesh PatelDeanAMSoM

Dr. Bhavesh Patel is the Dean of Amrut Mody School of Management and the Director of Post Graduate Institute of Management, Ahmedabad University He has worked for fifteen years at XLRI, Jamshedpur, in the finance department before he moved to USA, where he worked for brief time in industry. He took up teaching at California State University, Stanislaus, in 2001 and later joined Myers University, Cleveland, Ohio, in 2002. He returned to India and joined the School of Petroleum Management, Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, Gandhinagar, Gujarat, as the Director in April 2009. He was selected as a Senior Fulbright Research Scholar from USA and undertook his research at the University of Balamand, Lebanon. Moreover, out of the ten refereed journals published by IABE, USA, he is the Managing Editor of three.
