the 21st Century student.

Mission:
Students in the Department of Media Convergence will develop the skills to be responsible and effective consumers and
communicators of media messages through a variety of authentic communication
experiences.

The Missouri Education Department designated our program a Career and Technical Education Course.
The requirements we must meet to continue with designation include working to prepare our students to be college and career prepared. This advisory is a keep step in that direction.
Career
1. Interactions with professionals in the environment, continue building partnerships with radio stations (shadowing, internships, tours)
2. Professionals to evaluate students work at the end of the year
3. Mentoring of an advanced student
4. Speaker series
College
1. Tour of colleges, Universities: course options, facilities, student life
2. Preparation for college level material: Advise us on how we can best prepare our students? Necessary skills?

5. Opportunities: contests, film festivals, etc.
