Advanced Grading

BTEC Marking, Checklist, Marking Guide, Rubric

BTEC Marking is covered in the guidance for “Adding BTEC criteria to assignments”

Checklist

Fill out assignment as normal but under the grade tab set “Grading method” to “Checklist”

Then click the “Save and display” button

Click “Define new grading form from scratch

Fill in name

Group name (Groups are groups of criteria that make up the different sections of an assignment

How many points a criteria will score you (Click to change)Criteria name

Add new criteriaAdd new group

Press the “Save checklist and make it ready” button

Put comments in boxes corresponding to the criteria, check the boxes next to the criteria to award them

Click the save changes button

Oracle will automatically calculate the grade based on the percentage of points scored

Marking Guide

Fill out assignment as normal but under the “Grade” tab change “Grading method” to “Marking Guide”

Click “Define new grading form from scratch”

Fill in name of Marking Guide then Name of criteria (Click to change)This is what the

student will see when they look at the assignment (Click to change) This is what the

teacher/marker will see when marking the assignment (Click to change)

This is the highest the student can score for that criteria (Click to change)

Adds new criterion

Tick to show descriptions and marks to students

Click the save button (When you create the guide this button will say “Save and make it ready”

When marking; fill in the boxes for comments, the student’s score then “Save changes”

Oracle will automatically calculate the students grade based on the percentage of points

scored

Rubric

Fill out assignment as normal but under the “Grade” tab change “Grading method” to “Rubric”

Click “Define new grading form from scratch”

Fill in name then

Name/description of criteria

Name of grade/level and how many points a student will score for that grade (Click score to change)

Add new grade/level

Add new criterion

Delete level Save the settings and put the rubric on the assignment

When grading; select the grade/level and save changes.

Oracle will automatically calculate the students grade based on the percentage of points

scored
