8 STRESS MANAGEMENT TIPS FOR THE 10TH AND 12TH BOARD EXAMS. By
Dear students, we know that no one's immune to stress.
We know preparing for 10th and 12th board exams can become mentally taxing. One skill that you need to learn during your school life is to manage exam stress.
For all of you who're getting overwhelmed by the pressure of books, board exams, expectations and classes, we, the L J Institute of Masters in Applied Management have listed down the 8 most useful stress management tips for the 10th and 12th board exams.
#1. Get sufficient sleep
• During exams, you sleep in one week as much as you'd sleep in a day. An adult needs seven to nine hours of sleep for normal functioning.
• Sleepless nights end up making you unhealthy. Align your internal clock with the sun’s cycle (don’t sleep at dawn and wake up by mid-afternoon).
• With sound sleep the memory retention increases.
#2. Eat healthy
• Avoid food with high fat content. These foods decrease your concentration (no matter how tasty they are!) and boost the stress level.
• During 10th and 12th board exams, include fruits, vegetables and whole grains in diet and stay away from junk and processed food.
#3. Exercise
• 15-20 minute exercise break helps in relieving stress and burning the calories piled during the entire day.
• Exercising releases endorphins, the happy hormones that reduce the stress level.
#4. Take regular breaks
• Studying non-stop for hours does more harm than good. It is important to relax. Your mind and body perform at their best only if you get adequate rest.
• Take breaks, include exercise, recreational activity, snack time or pursue your passion to your refresh mind.
#5. Select a proper study place
• Don’t study at a separate place every day- Sit on a desk in a calm place and keep the study place neat and tidy. Peaceful environment boosts your confidence.
#6. Meditate
• Meditation keeps stress in control and calms your
nerves.
• Meditating 15-20 minutes helps in developing razor sharp focus and improves concentration.
#7. Stay away from artificial energy boosters
Instant energy boosters like caffeine or energy drinks help in making you stay awake the whole night, but putting away the natural desire to sleep results in greater exposure to stress.
#8. Plan and organize your schedule
• It is said, “Failing to plan is planning to fail”.
• Organize your day-time timetable and stick to it. Divide your time properly between study, recreational time, exercise and sleep to strike the right balance.
So there you have it. Some great ways that you can crack these exams easily. And yes, lots of luck with those exams.
