Students must complete and submit an application for all forms of financial aid. They must adhere to deadlines, sign and date all documents, and verify that the application is complete before submitting.
Financial aid verification is a random process to validate the data provided on theapplication. The federal government, college, or scholarship organization can require
students to submit additional documents in order to continue processing a financial aid award (grant, scholarship, or loan).

Verification
Most, if not all, forms of financial aid have an academic eligibility requirement. Students must be aware of the academic requirements to maintain funding eligibility. These requirementsinclude maintaining a minimum GPA, progressing in classes, and completing coursework. Note that evaluation of eligibility can happen semester-by-semester and/or yearly.
Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
Disbursement is when your financial aid funds on your award letter are transferred (credited) to your account in the Cashier’s Office. Credited funds will pay the current semester’s tuition,
fees, and books, first. Remaining funds may be distributed for other educational expenses depending on the type of financial aid funds.

There are five basic steps toreceiving any form of financial aid funds for college. It is important that you are aware of these five steps in order to properly support students in the process.
After your financial aid application is reviewed and verified, and it is determined that you have SAP, you will receive an award notice from the Financial Aid Office. Check yourOnline Student Center for your Electronic Award Notification from the Financial Aid Office.
