3rd Missionary Journey

• People healed with handkerchiefs and items of Paul’s clothing

• 7 sons of Sceva try to cast out demons in Jesus’ name, beat down and flee.

• Magicians/sorcerers converted and burn their books.

• Demetrias and silversmiths start riot, town clerk calms but Paul leaves town.

him.• Church leaders at Ephesus meet him in Miletus to

say goodbye.

• At Caesarea Agabus takes Paul’s belt, binds himself and prophesied that so Paul will be bound.

• Goes to Jerusalem, Asian Jews accuse of teaching against law of Moses and bringing Gentile in Jewish only area of temple.

• Riot begins, Romans intervene, Paul speaks they listen until he says God sent him to the Gentiles.

• Avoids beating by telling them he is a Roman citizen.

• Causes fight in Sanhedrin by saying this is about resurrection of the dead.

• Paul’s nephew discovers plot to kill Paul by 40 men who vow not to eat or drink until Paul is killed.

• To avoid plot Paul is taken during the night by Roman centurions to Felix in Caesarea.

• Paul appears before Felix, no verdict but kept imprisoned for 2 years. Felix holds him hoping for a bribe, leaving Paul in prison after he loses his job.

• Festus along with King Agrippa and wife Bernice hear Paul’s case.

• They find no fault but decide to send Paul to Jerusalem.

• Paul knows of a plot to kill him so he refuses and appeals to Caesar.

the message of Jesus as the Messiah. Using

evidence from this text and others

• Spend 14 days in a storm, angel appears to Paul saying all lives will be spared but ship will be wrecked.

• Ship wrecks on the island of Malta.

• Paul heals chief Publius’s father and many others.

• Stay here 3 months.

• Gathers together Jewish leaders and preaches.

• Stays in Rome for 2 years.
