War GameThe story is of a young boy and his friends going off to fight in ww1 in the trenches. The story shows the 1914 spontaneous Christmas truce and the following events on the Western Front. The story is very emotive the illustration is done in both a very bright and dark muted style to contrast happiness with great sadness, it is a hand painted illustration that gives a very atmospheric feel to the story. This book was written and illustrated by Michael Foreman and the book is 76 pages long and came out on 7th October 1993 and was published through pavilion books. As it is a children's book the majority of the pages are taken up by the illustrations with the text only taking up a small part of the page (see below pages from the book).
