under Search Records

indexed records using the name and birth

1. Changing her maiden name to her

married name (from first husband)

2. Entering marriage information

instead of birth information

3. Adding a spouse name

4. Clicking Update

Using broad or narrow search criteria

There are many ways to modify your search

Change a name (i.e. married vs. maiden, nicknames,

farm vs. patronymic names in some countries, etc.)

Add relationships (modify parent or spouse names, use

different relationship combinations, etc.)

Change the event from birth to another event

(marriage, death, residence), including broad or

narrow dates and places or using multiple events

Restrict to only certain record types, places, etc.

broad date range (to cover

childbearing years)

Attaching an Internet Source...

Add a source title--

include the person’s

name and the name of

the record collection--

copy and paste from the

source when possible

Click create

New Source

Add a url--copy and

paste from the browser

Add a description of where the record is found--At

Ancestry this may be copied from source information

OR, download an

image, add it to

the person’s

“Documents” then

attach it to the source

In the notes, add the

important information

contained in the record

inactive, partner account
