In 2007, a preliminary focus study found that the Reading Focus Cards:

1. (In a special needs classroom) Immediately helped 90% of children to focus and read better.

2. (In a general population sample---two 6th grade classes with no known learning disabilities) Helped 10% of children to read with more success.

Formal Focus Study (2011)

WITH the Reading Focus Cards…1. “All subjects increased their decoding skills by

more than one grade level.”2. “All subjects experienced success in raising

their timed reading scores.”3. “Students increased their reading fluency by 25

correct words per minute while reading passages at their instructional level.”
