Existing product• This podcast is broadcasting a show where everything that you hear

is acted and is all made up unlike these previous podcasts. The audio is a bit more distorted unlike the other podcasts. This is because that this was recorded back in 1930s unlike the modern day microphones where the quality is a lot more improved. The Language is mostly descriptive because you cant see the events visually. So the people recording have to describe so that the audience can paint a picture in your head. There are also some sound effects added in to the mix this also helps create a picture in the audience's head. It also helps describe the events that are happening.

Research Analysis

• What common features do the researched products have?. The shows have either a host or a co host. And they often record their shows unscripted. While they know what they are going to talk about a vast majority on what they say is improvised. The shows often have an intro or an outro and occasionally they would play either some music or a clip form a film or TV show. They use a lot of emotive language when talking about the film. This helps get their thoughts and feelings across to the audience.

• What aspects of the research will you include within your on work? I am probably going to have my podcast improvised however I may choose to instead have it scripted so I don’t somehow ramble my words together so they don't suddenly becomes incoherent. When reviewing the film I may choose to play a clip from the film. This is so that viewers know what they are getting into if they see the film. I am also going to try and make my language very emotive to help bring my thoughts across to the audience.

because I am in the same gender as them. I may also be adding some music in the back ground. Music that appeal to a male audience such as rock music or music from an artist they like and that appeals to them

Research Evaluation

Page 24: 2. research

Research Evaluation• Give an overview of how you conducted your research. Discuss the

strengths and weaknesses of each method – Product Research– I went on the BBC radio website and looked at the many shows they play and I did

some research on how they present their shows.

– Questionnaires– I made my questioners using survey monkey. This was a very quick and simple way to

this process rarther then writing it down on a piece of paper.– Interviews– I made my interviews by making 3 separate slides asking the same 3 questions so I can

get a different response out of people. It was very interesting to see what responses I could get out of people and learning how different peoples tastes are.

Page 25: 2. research

Research Evaluation– What sort of a response did you get?– I got a interesting response from people. The people love a variety of different genres some

love dramas some love comedy and some love action so it will be difficult to find a introduce films that both audiences will like. Most of my audiences are male so they will be more into the action and comedy part. My target audience mainly consists of teenagers so they are more into action as well because. My audience also want me to review a guys work in one 10 minute podcast this means that they want to be introduced to a filmmakers work so I will be mainly be focusing on a filmmaker who has tackled theses different genres this will help introduce my audience to films they will love.

– How did you distribute your survey? Give an advantage and a disadvantage– I used survey monkey to distribute my ideas to others and see what they wanted. The

avantage of this is that it helped me learn who my audience are and it helpd me learn what I should be recommending to people. It also helped me engage and share my ideas with people and they give me great feedback. The only disadvantage is that I would like to meet my audience face to face rather then have a faceless stranger on a computer put down what I should do.
