Just do itTAKE SOMETHING KNOWN AND APPLY IT TO SOMETHING UNUSUAL
What Galileo did?
Galileo Galilei1564-1642
In 1609 Galilei got the letter from Netherland. The sender informed him about a new device invented by several Holland craftsmen simultaneously and independently. The case was widely discussed among public because of trialwhere on of craftsmen asked jury for personal patent and was denied
Galilei drew some hints from the letter and made the deviceToday we call it “telescope” after Giovanni Demisiani who saw it at 1611
So Galilei did not invented telescope. BUT he applied it to something unusual –to the sky at night.
Take something known and apply it to something unusual
Antonie van Leeuwenhoek
Antonie Philips van Leeuwenhoek1632 - 1723
In 1676 he look through microscope (well known device)at dirty water and discovered MICROORGANISMS
Robert Brown
Robert Brown1773-1858
In 1827, while examining grains of pollen of the plant Clarkia pulchella suspended in water under a microscope, Brown observed minute particles, now known to be amyloplasts(starch organelles) and spherosomes (lipid organelles),ejected from the pollen grains, executing a continuous jittery motion
in German and French publications of 1784 and 1785,the phenomenon is now known as Brownian motion
