Left Side: What is a predicate noun?
Right Side: A predicate noun is a single noun or noun phrase that renames the subject. Most often it follows the verb “to be.”
Predicate nouns may also follow these verbs: smell, taste, feel, remain, continue, appear.
Example:
The Chief of Surgery was Dr. Hurt.
She used to be the most talented girl on the volleyball team.

Left Column: What is a predicate adjective?
Right Column: A predicate adjective follows the verb “to be” and tells us something about the subject.
Example:
His behavior was outrageous.
The garbage can was moldy, stinky and smelly.
Vocabulary
All words on index cards.
Front of card has the word.
Back of card has the definition.
Back of card also has a sentence using the word correctly.
