Source ; Quality Management in Construction
AIM AND OBJECTIVES OF STUDY :
• To develop the quality of strength in construction building.• To increase product quality and to satisfy all stakeholders in the
industry.• To have better understanding on quality control procedures.• To determine a suitable quality control method for the project.• To get better knowledge in quality assurance. • To achieve quality in the way the project is organized and managed
in the three phases of design, construction, and operation. • To provide adequate confidence that a structure, system, or
component will perform satisfactorily and conform with project requirements.
• To complete the project with multiple objectives of quality, cost, safety and speed.
SCOPE AND OVERVIEW OF THE STUDY :• To study the effect of planning of quality
management system.
• To study the effect of quality control procedures.
• To know the effectiveness of quality control methods.
• To solve quality related problems during construction
• To determine a suitable quality management
procedure for the construction of Multipurpose High
Rise Building project.
Implementation program
Studying the characteristic and process management of firm in the construction project.
Examining the need for and the design and implementation of a total quality management system in construction firms, to raise the capabilities and motivation of the suppliers/subcontractors subsystem.
Recognizing the problem occurs in the construction site and the method of the quality control in construction management system practiced in the construction will be interview and collect from the questionnaires.
Identifying the potential and requirement for quality management system at construction site, which the literature review had been carried out.
Discussion and conclusion of quality control of materials management in construction project.
DFINITIONS OF QUALITY
Quality is customer satisfaction.
Fitness for use.
Higher product development
Materials and processes pushed to the limit
Lower contractor profit margins
Less defects/rejects
PURPOSE OF QUALITY MANAGEMENT PROGRAM
The purpose of this Quality Management Program is to
describe the execution methodology International Alliance
Group (IAG) will utilize to manage the quality function.
QUALITY MANAGEMENT PROGRAM OBJECTIVE
The objective of this Quality Management Program is
to effectively implement the Quality System, in
conjunction with surveillance and inspection
activities, to ensure compliance with quality
standards, industry codes, and Engineering/Client
specifications, as they relate to Field Constructions.
QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
Quality Management System is the organizational
structure, responsibilities, procedures, processes, and
resources for implementing quality management.
QUALITY ASSURANCE (QA)
• Quality Assurance means controlling equipment,
materials, processes and staff training throughout
manufacture
• QA is all about setting and meeting standards in the
manufacture process.
QUALITY CONTROL (QC)
Quality Control is all about ensuring the finished
product meets the standards set in the specification and
by various controlling bodies.
FACTORS INVOLVED WITH QA
QA covers many factors to ensure that the finished product will pass QC.
These Factors include:
Equipment, Materials, Processes
FACTORS IN QC
QC is a series of checks carried out on the product to ensure it complies with the original specification and also the rules of the regulatory bodies governing the product.
QC also checks the product does what it was meant to do
QC ensures customer satisfaction
QA/QC MANAGER (CONSTRUCTION)
Overall Purpose of the Role:
Develop and maintain new QA/QC procedures for implementation on various projects that specify a contractual obligation to monitor and assure the production quality.
This will involve the creation of a QA/QC Plan, the management of a QA/QC Team, and the implementation and execution of the plan.
The purpose of this will be to monitor the quality, document the progress in accordance with contract specifications, document and report non-conformance issues, and provide a plan to rectify deviations from contract, material insufficiencies, or otherwise sub-par quality.
EXPECTED OUTCOMES
Improve the management of material for construction project.
Minimization of repetition of past failure.
Sharing of successful experiences.
Learn from other people’s experiences to avoid pitfalls and to minimize the repetitions of errors.
Identify specific design, process, or decision that reduces or eliminates the potential for failures.
Availability of corrective actions for typical problems that might impact the costs of a project.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION
